COTTAM BRUSH LTD – SUMMER 2022 NEWSLETTER

David Cottam, Financial Director, has retired

At the end of May our previous MD and current Financial Director, David Cottam, celebrated his official retirement from Cottam Brush. David joined the company back in 1976 and was MD until 2005, when his son Ben took the reins.

David celebrated with Cottam staff, as well as his wife Margaret, with a BBQ and cake. Current MD, Alan Crook, also presented him with a gold leaf Cottam paintbrush as a present from all staff, and he was also gifted a Whiskey and Spa break from Ben.

A huge and well-earned congratulations to David!

As part of National Walking Month & Mental Health Awareness Week, which ran 9 – 15th May, Team Cottam went for a walk through Sunderland Marina and the riverside.
Some of our customers may remember when Cottam was based at our factory in Sheepfolds, and as part of our walk we were able to visit the site which brought back lots of memories for the team. Though the factory was demolished in 2008 we could still see the paint lines marking out the factory floors!

At Cottam one of our key values is to deliver quality products and service to our customers. We’re very pleased to say that we passed our recent ISO 9001 audit last month. This certificate demonstrates our commitment to delivering quality products and services across our custom and catalogue ranges.

Our efficient quality management systems (QMS) help us as a team do what we do best – manufacture great brushes for our customers.

New Products at Cottam

We recently launched a pack of six 9” microfibre roller sleeves over on our Amazon site.

These roller sleeves are ideal for domestic paint jobs and commercial decorating, as the shed-resistant filament delivers a brilliant finish on smooth surfaces. Microfibre rollers are best used with water-based paints including emulsions and silks, and you can find more information here.
