Sue Stewart joined Cottam as Account Manager in 2020, and leads the Sales and Marketing team.
Can you describe your role…
As Account Manager I build relationships with our customers to ensure they are given the best experience possible. I’m also responsible for analyzing and generating sales, marketing, and improving our internal processes around customer service and complaints, as well as mentoring and guiding our employees as part of the leadership team..
What do you like about working here?
The people! They are so lovely, and I’m lucky enough to work in a relaxed environment where I’m given the opportunity to learn and grow within myself but also with our team and the company.
What do you like doing in your spare time?
Anything outdoors! I love mountain biking and walking especially, but I also enjoy spending time with my family, travelling and reading.
What’s the best place you’ve ever visited?
I’d have to say Japan. I love visiting new places, and my husband and I took our family on the three week holiday of a lifetime to Asia. Though I really liked Thailand, Japan was a highlight for me. The people were friendly, it was so clean and the food was amazing!
What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?
That there’s no such thing as “can’t”, is what my Aunty, mum and Nana would always say. By believing that anything I put my mind to can be achieved, it’s created an attitude in me that not being able to do something I want to isn’t even an option.
Who is your hero or inspiration?
Heroes to me are everyday people that do things to help others in any way they can – like the late Sir Tom Moore! I also find positive people inspiring – no matter how hard things get they still see the bright side and make the most of what they have.
What are you most proud of in your life?
My daughter, Caitlin. She’s a beautiful person who will help anyone and loves life. She’s currently at university in Lancaster studying computer science, and from the moment she was born has made me burst with pride!
