What are Duct Brushes and Mandrels?
Duct brushes and mandrels are used to remove dirt and debris from electrical and communications ducts. They can be pulled through the duct by attaching a rope or cable to the pre-installed drawing eyes on either end of the brush.
Typically, mandrels are pulled through the duct first to get rid of the bulk of the dirt before duct brushes are then pulled through to clear the remainder.
At Cottam, our duct brushes and mandrels are available in standard industry sizes and we welcome enquiries for bespoke requirements.
Our duct brushes are made with a polypropylene core and 0.6mm nylon filaments. The towing eyes are zinc plated. Standard mandrels are also manufactured using polypropylene. We can advise on bespoke materials if required.
